Working with MR Green Bay

Initial Contact 

  • We have your resume and background on file and call you because you may be qualified for a position we’re working on. 
  • We’re conducting a search and learn about you as a possible qualified candidate from a referral or through our research. 
  • You respond to a job posting we’ve prepared on behalf of our client.  We contact you because it appears your background matches the job requirements. 

 

Qualifying Process 

  • We will have one or more conversations with you to determine you professional circumstances, career aspirations and your qualifications “beyond the resume.” 
  • Your background information is put in our database for future consideration, allowing us to watch the market for you. 

The Marketing Process 

  • If your background and goals match up with our client’s needs, we will have additional conversations to enable us to properly present you for consideration. 
  • At this point you will also get additional information on the company and job opportunity. 
  • In most cases we ask select candidates to complete a form that focuses on your professional accomplishments and the benefits resulting to your employers. 
  • You will also be asked for several professional references. Comments from references often have an important role in marketing you to our clients. 

Client Presentation 

  • If we continue to agree that our client’s position is a good fit for you, we will present you – and perhaps other qualified candidates as well – to our client. 
  • We provide a written or oral synopsis of your background as well as your resume to our client.   
  • Depending on the company, we may be interacting with the functional hiring authority or someone in the human resources department who will do initial screening of candidates on behalf of the hiring manager. 

Phone Interview 

  • Should our client agree that your skills and experience match their needs, they will likely ask for an initial phone interview with you. 
  • These interviews are typically 30+ minutes and may be conducted by the human resources department or the hiring authority. 
  • We will work closely with you to help you maximize this important part of the process. 

Face-to-Face Interviews

  • If you and our client continue to be interested in each other, face-to-face interviews will be scheduled. 
  • The interview process at companies varies widely.  They may span a few hours to a full day.  They may be one-on-one interviews or group sessions.  They will likely be held with the hiring authority and HR, but may also include departmental peers, direct reports and managers in collaborating departments. 
  • Once again, we will work closely with you to help you prepare for this critical part of the process. 

Debriefing 

  • You will be asked to contact us immediately following the interviews.  We’ll ask for your perceptions on all aspects of the interview.  We all want to know if you have any new or continuing questions about the position or company that need to be addressed.  Of course, we will want to know if you continue to be interested in the position. 
  • We will similarly debrief our client on their perceptions of you. 

 

Job Offer 

  • If both parties remain interested, the process will evolve to a job offer. 
  • We work closely with you and our client to facilitate this stage.  We ensure that all questions and concerns are addressed, any final reference checks made, and that both parties are excited about the prospect of you working for the client. 
  • Depending on the company, the actual job offer may come directly from the company or from us on behalf of the company. 

Offer Accepted 

  • We continue our involvement as necessary to establish a start date, prepare for your resignation and possible counteroffer, meet relocation needs, and more. 

Follow-Up 

  • After you’ve begun your exciting new career, we will be checking in with you as well as our client to help ensure that all expectations are being met.
